So you want an FM station! Be prepared, this will not be a quick or easy journey! If you are just starting the process, there is a fair chance that you will not be around to see the conclusion. Don't take this as a turn off, rather a challenge. You must ensure continuity. That means that as personnel come and go, the information and systems are taught to the incoming people, otherwise they will be forced to reinvent the wheel and perhaps even jeopardize the goals you have established.

A lot has changed since I last updated this page! While the above is still true, it seems that getting your new station on the air will take a lot more determination than in the past. For an idea of the new rules, see the news.

If you want an FM station, there are two options... keep up to date with the FCC LPFM page. And call an engineer who specializes in this stuff to see if there is a frequency available for you when the next "window" opens. I suggest doing both!
