Garden Work Day, Sept. 23, 2007

Volunteers uproot and haul 40 lb. concrete blocks from the old Community Garden so that they can be re-used in the new site, located by Wiess College. (Click on the thumbnails to see the full-sized images.)

 

Green Rice Groundbreaking

On October 7, 2007, Rice broke ground on its new community garden plot. Participants helped to move soil onto the beds and enjoyed free snacks (including organic citrus aid made from Rice's own trees), facepainting, music provided by KTRU, and a trampoline.
