The AICPA Fellowships for Minority Doctoral Students offers fellowships to minority candidates who have been accepted into a doctoral accounting program. Fellowships of up to 12,000 dollars are awarded once a year to full time minority accounting scholars who show significant potential of becoming accounting educators.

the Ambassadorial Scholarships sponsors several types of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students as well as for qualified professionals pursuing vocational studies. While abroad, scholars serve as ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host country and give presentations about their homelands to Rotary clubs and other groups. Upon returning home, scholars share with Rotarians and others the experiences that led to greater understanding of their host countries.

The American Chemical Society sponsors scholarship programs for qualified applicants who want to enter the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering, and students seeking a two-year degree in chemical technology. The programs are designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic, and American Indian students to pursue undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences and chemical technology.

The American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES) administers 5 distinct scholarships, in partnership with various organizations, as well as its own memorial scholarship. AISES scholarships are intended to supplement the unmet financial needs of qualified American Indian students pursuing degrees in science, engineering, and technology. The scholarship programs were created to assure that deserving American Indian students could actively pursue higher education.

Americorps offers a wide range of opportunities, including Job, fellowship, and internship opportunities with Learn and Serve America and other Corporation for National Service programs .

American Institute of Architects Minority Disadvantaged Scholarship for minority students enrolling in architecture programs. Deadline is December.

The American Psychological Association offers a wide range of scholarships for students interested in the field of Psychology.

American Rhodes Scholars are selected through a decentralized process by which regional selection committees choose 32 Scholars each year from among those nominated by selection committees in each of the fifty states. Through December 2002, applicants from more than 300 American colleges and universities had been selected as Rhodes Scholars. In most years, even after a century of competition, a Rhodes Scholar is selected from an institution which has not formerly supplied a successful applicant.

The American Sociological Association provides funding opportunities to graduate students of sociology and sociologists with a doctorate degree.

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships for college students who exhibit motivation, imagination, and exceptional performance in the science or engineering field of their major.

Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars Program at Howard University offers new opportunities in health policy for minority students. The program offers thirteen talented college student paid summer congressional fellowships in Washington DC.

Baylor College of Medicine Graduate Program in Molecular & Cellular Biology offers well-funded research programs in reproductive, neural, developmental and cancer biology, as well as gene therapy.

Carnegie Mellon University, H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management is offering a limited number of fellowships for outstanding students enrolling in the Master of Science in Public Policy and Management degree program. Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Scholarship Awards for Latino students who have a history of performing public service oriented activities in their communities and who plan to continue contributing in the future. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

.Defense Intelligence Agency staffs full-time positions with individuals who have backgrounds in engineering, foreign area studies, international relations and political science.

The Department of Energy, Office of Defense Programs and Office of Science funds the Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (CSGF) administered by the Krell Institute. This program works to identify and provide support for some of the very best computational science graduate students in the nation. This fellowship has supported over 120 students at approximately 50 universities.

The Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology (DFBSST) is an endowment fund which provides scholarships to African-American undergraduate students who enroll in scientific or technical fields of study at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's).

The Doctoral Dissertation Award is designed to stimulate research and development of new knowledge in the fields of insurance and business, and to increase the number of qualified teachers of insurance and business at U.S. colleges and universities. Each winner receives a $10,000 research grant. Each winner's graduate institution also receives a grant of $3,000.

Dow Jones Newspaper Fund is offering college juniors, seniors and graduate students the opportunity to apply for one of more than 100 paid editing internships being offered during the summer, and minority college sophomores and juniors the opportunity to apply for paid internships through its Business Reporting Program.

Earlham College - Masters of Arts in Teaching Program - allows students who did not complete a teacher education program, to attend an eleven-month course of graduate study beginning in June and concluding the following May, earning their M.A.T. after completing their first semester as a teacher. Emory University Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences is composed of eight interdisciplinary programs, each leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Students admitted to the Division receive a tuition scholarship, health insurance and stipend support.

Environmental Careers Organization has paid internships available. Through its diversity initiative ECO has placed over 2000 minorities into paid internship positions.

Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships are designed to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. Ford Foundation Fellowships for Minorities increase the presence of underrepresented minorities on the nation's college and university faculties, enhance diversity on campuses, and address the persisting effects of past discrimination. The Ford Foundation offers predoctoral fellowships to members of six minority groups whose underrepresentation in the professorate has been severe and long-standing. The fellowship program identifies individuals with demonstrated ability and provides them the opportunity to engage in graduate study leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Science (Sc .D.) degree. These successful scholars then inspire other students of color to pursue an academic career in teaching and research.

University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy Summer Program in Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA). An intensive 7-week program that prepares students for graduate programs in public policy and international affairs. Students must have completed junior year in college. Primary preference is given to underrepresented groups in public policy. Participants receive stipend and assistance. Application deadline and information is available on line.

The Fund for Theological Education (FTE) offers undergraduate fellowships that enable students to explore whether becoming a minister might be a fit for their lives. Fellows attend a Conference on Excellence in Ministry, receive a $1500 stipend to use for educational expenses, and $500 for their own mentoring.

The University of Michigan College of Engineering is offering summer internships in their Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. These paid internships require that students have completed their second year of college in an engineering-related discipline with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS), funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islander Americans, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education, in all discipline areas and a graduate education for those students pursuing studies in mathematics, science, engineering, education, or library science. The goal of GMS is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for thousands of outstanding students with significant financial need to reach their fullest potential.

The GEM Fellowship Programs are designed to offer opportunities for underrepresented minority students to obtain MS degrees in engineering and Ph.D. degrees in engineering and the natural and physical sciences through a program of paid summer internships and graduate financial assistance.

Harry S. Truman Scholarship is a $30,000 merit-based federal grant awarded to undergraduate students, who wish financial support to attend graduate or professional school in preparation for careers in government, the non-profit sector or elsewhere in public service. The Foundation expects to award 70-75 Truman Scholarships in 2005. The scholarship is open to junior-level students. Hispanic College Fund Scholarships are for hispanic students majoring in business, computer science, engineering or business-related majors.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund has assisted Hispanic college students through its relationship with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund since 1990. Each year, we provide $2,500 scholarships to 20 Hispanic college students who are pursing a teaching career. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund administers the program for State Farm Companies Foundation.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund was founded in 1975 to help Hispanic-American college students complete their education. The scholarships are available on a competitive basis for community college, four-year college, and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. Awards generally range from $1000 to $3,000. The 2003-2004 application will be available in August 2003.

Howard Hughes Medical Institute Predoctoral Fellowships in Biological Sciences are intended for students who have completed less than one year of graduate study toward an M. S. or Ph.D. in the biological sciences.

INROADS offers internships for African-American, Hispanic, or Native Americans interested in pursuing a career in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, or Applied Sciences. College freshmen, sophomores or juniors who can commit to a minimum of two summers of an internship should apply.

Indiana University Minority Faculty Fellows Program sponsors up to ten fellows per year with appointments that comprise both the summer sessions and the academic year. Summer fellows usually teach one course during either the first (six-week) or second (eight-week) session, while academic year fellows teach in both the fall and spring terms.

Institute for Diversity in Health Management has summer enrichment programs at the undergraduate and graduate level providing a "real world" experience in a health care setting for ethnic and minority students.

Institute for International Public Policy (IIPP) Fellowship Program provides a single grant to assist a consortium of colleges and universities to establish an institute designed to increase the representation of minorities in international service, including private international voluntary organizations and the foreign service of the US. The Intel Science Talent Search
looks for eligible students including high school seniors in the United States and territories, and American students attending school abroad. Each year, over 1500 students accept the challenge of completing an entry for the Intel Science Talent Search, with finalists competing for the top prize, a $100,000 scholarship.

Project View is an IBM Diversity recruitment program offering Latino, African American, Asian, Persons with Disabilities and Native American, BA, BS, MS, PhD students the opportunity to explore IBM's national career options. This program is open to US Citizens or nationals; permanent residents, refugees, asylees or those authorized to work under the amnesty provisions of the US immigration law.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships perpetuates the legacy of Jackie Robinson by providing college scholarships for minority youths.

John L. Carey Scholarships provides financial assistance to liberal arts degree holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting. These awards are intended to encourage liberal arts undergraduates to consider professional accounting careers.

Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Graduate Program in Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences is designed to take advantage of the diversity of research interests, facilities, and expertise in the School of Medicine and the University. Students have the opportunity to develop close ties with a number of faculty members in the School of Medicine

The Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs offers the Master of Public Affairs and Ph.D. in Public Policy degrees. The emphasis throughout the programs is on mastery of the problem-solving skills and management principles that underlie successful performance in the public sector environment.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research provides funding to highly qualified individuals undertaking broad studies of the most challenging health, health care and health policy issues facing America. The Lunar and Planetary Institute invites undergraduates to experience cutting-edge research in the planetary sciences through the Summer Intern Program. As a Summer Intern, you would complete a research project of current interest in planetary science, working one-on-one with a scientist at the LPI or at Johnson Space Center. Relevant fields of study include the natural sciences, engineering, computer sciences, and mathematics. February deadline.

The Harvard University Kennedy School of Government selects students from diverse backgrounds and experiences who have strong academic records, a commitment to public service, and outstanding potential for career growth and leadership for their Master's Programs in public policy, public administration and international development. The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt corporation of volunteer men and women dedicated to providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships for higher education to deserving sons and daughters of United States Marines and children of former Marines, with particular attention being given to children whose parent was killed or wounded in action.

Arizona State University's Mathematical and Theoretical Biology Institute Research Experience for Undergraduates (MTBI) is looking for students interested in research at the interface of mathematics and statistics and natural and social sciences. The 8-week summer program is held at Arizona State University. The program is designed for undergraduates who have completed their sophomore or junior year, are majoring in math, biology, or related fields, and have at least one year of calculus.

The Ronald E. McNair Post baccalaureate Achievement program, is a federal TRIO program funded at 156 institutions across the United States and Puerto Rice by the US Department of Education. The McNair Program is designed to prepare participants for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities.

McNay Art Museum through the Dan and Gloria Oppenheimer family provides funds for a Museum Education internship for a minority student who has completed an undergraduate degree program. METPRO is not an internship but a rigorous, two-year training program designed to provide the necessary tools for beginning minority journalists to succeed. Although experience is not required, successful candidates should have basic reporting and writing skills and a strong desire to be in daily newspaper journalism. Since its inception, more than 240 minority journalists have graduated from the reporting and editing sequences to go on to successful careers.

Microsoft is excited to be offering full tuition scholarships for groups currently underrepresented in the field of computer science to pursue technical degrees. A large majority of scholarships will be awarded to female students, under-represented minority students or students with disabilities. Minority applicants must be a member of one of the following groups underrepresented in the software field: African American, Hispanic, or Native American.

The goal of the Minority Management Development Program is to address the shortage of talented, minority managers in the health plan community by providing a source of managerial training, work experience and knowledge of the industry through training opportunities.

The Millender Fellowship was designed to assist graduate minority men and women in achieving distinguished accomplishment in public service-oriented careers. Fellows are assigned to high-level responsibilities with top executives in Detroit area organizations in public, private, and nonprofit areas. The program goal is to provide the encouragement, experience and relationships that are necessary to develop an ever-growing pool of public service-oriented minority leaders.

The Minority Health Program supports training opportunities to help individuals prepare for a career in health services research. AHRQ is particularly interested in fostering the professional development of minority health services researchers.

The Minority Medical Education Program (MMEP) offers summer educational experiences to help promising, highly motivated students gain admission to medical schools. MMEP gives a critical edge in the intense competition for medical school. Of all the MMEP graduates who have applied to medical school, 63% have been accepted. Ohio State University graduate program in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology offers studies leading to the Ph.D. degree in areas of molecular biology, cellular biology and developmental biology. Research training is very diverse and areas of study include: Cell Biology, Gene Expression, DNA Replication, Developmental Biology, Molecular Medicine, Virology, Cancer Biology/Genetics, Plant Molecular Biology, Molecular Neurobiology, RNA Processing. PGA Tour summer and fall Internship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate studies of African-American, Asian-American, Native-American, or Hispanic descent. For most positions, applicants must have a GPA of at least a 2.6. Candidates should have completed at least their sophomore year. Graduating students are also eligible to apply as long as they are currently enrolled at the time of application submission. Philips Academy, Institute for Recruitment of Teachers (helping minority students seek advanced degrees for careers in teaching) offers two programs 1) the Summer Workshop for rising seniors who intend to pursue graduate study immediately and 2) the Associate Program for college seniors and recent graduates. Applicants must be African American, Latino or Native American. Deadline May 1 of the application year.

The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs is pleased to announce the PPIA Junior Summer Institute will be held at Princeton University. The goal of the PPIA Junior Summer Institute is to prepare students for graduate study and careers in public policy and international affairs. Research Program for Women and Minorities Underrepresented in the Sciences offers summer employment through the AT&T Labs Undergraduate Research Program. Participating students work on individual projects which are parts of the ongoing research in the lab. The projects are ideally designed so that they can be completed and reported on over the 10-week course of the summer.

Ron Brown Scholar Program is specifically focused on young African-Americans of outstanding promise; it seeks to accelerate their progress into the mainstream of leadership positions in business, education, government, and a wide spectrum of professions. In addition to awarding each student $40,000 for college and providing guidance throughout their academic careers, the Program coordinates a wide variety of summer study-abroad programs and internships, and underwrites Scholars' attendance at leadership programs including the National Outdoor Leadership School.

The Roothbert Fund is a small, nearly all-volunteer scholarship fund based in New York City, which awards yearly grants and works to foster fellowship among grant recipients. Once a year, the Fund accepts applications for grants, which include essays, transcripts and recommendations

Southeast Missouri State University

Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA) hosts an annual premed conference focusing on becoming a stronger applicant for medial school. The goal of SUMMA is to increase the number of minority applicants to the health professional fields.

State University of New York at Binghamton offer various graduate degree programs in Management, Arts, and Sciences.

State University of New York at Stony Brook,
one of the top-ranked graduate schools in the country, offers fellowships for doctoral candidates. The Turner Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to African American, Latino and Native American Indian students who are either U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

The University of Chicago's Division of Biological Sciences offers a nine-week summer research program for undergraduates in their sophomore or junior year. The University of Delaware Winterthur Program in Early American Culture announces two-year fellowships for students coming from a variety of undergraduate backgrounds, including art history, history, literature, folklore, and American studies.
