Mission Statement

To make a place for Rice MBA students in the marketing field through job placement, programming, education/training, and public relations efforts.

 

Activities

  • Marketing Resume Book
    • A resume book and CD-Rom is put together annually for all marketing club members.  This book is then distributed to companies to increase exposure for the Jones School marketing students for gaining internships and full-time positions.
  • Marketing Case Competition

    • The marketing club sponsors an annual case competition where the best and the brightest marketing students from schools across the nation come together to compete in a two day competition.  

  • Marketing Orientation Panel
    • Jones School alumni in various marketing positions discuss their careers in a casual panel setting during pre-term orientation.   There is a Q&A session for students to ask specific questions.
  • Brown Bag Lunches
    • A wide variety of speakers join us for lunch to provide insight into their careers, companies, and experiences in the world of marketing.
  • Day-In-The-Life
    • Students spend several hours at Houston-based companies in a multitude of industries to get "real-life" exposure to the culture, environment, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Resume Workshops
    • Early in the fall semester, second year students provide one-on-one resume critiques to fine tune resumes focused toward a marketing career.
  • Interview Workshops
    • Second year students lead mock interviews that are geared to marketing careers.  Behavioral and case style interviews are emphasized.  Also covered are interview do's and don'ts as well as what types of questions to ask the interviewer.
  • Internship Job Search Game Plan
    • Second year students provide hints and tips for laying the ground work and implementing your internship job search.  Many first hand experiences, both good and bad, will be discussed!
