Title: Eel: It's What's for Dinner
Location: Tsukiji Fish Market - Tokyo, Japan
Program: Temple University Japan, Tokyo, Japan, Fall 2003
Description: Tokyo boasts the largest fish market in the world, where over 2,500 tons of fish are sold daily. If it lives in the sea, it's probably for sale here. Everything is allotted its specialized area: mountains of octopus, rows of giant tuna, endless varieties of shellfish, and tanks of unnamable fish. In this photograph, we see freshly caught (and killed) eels before they head out to the sushi restaurants to be served as today's dinner.
