The mission of Crisis Intervention of Houston, Inc. is to help people
in crisis. Crisis Intervention, a volunteer-based organization, helps
people prevent or resolve crisis by providing 24-hour telephone and web-based
counseling, suicide prevention and intervention, support to those affected
by suicide, links to community resources, and community education.

Area Women's Center
The Houston Area Women's Center's vision, leadership and action empower
women to advance their roles, rights and well-being. HAWC provides shelter
and support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. We
serve people without regard to age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation,
ethnicity, color or ability. We educate and inform children, youth and
the community at large to prevent and eliminate the causes of domestic
and sexual violence. All services are free and confidential, including

Lambda
Center (Alcoholics Anonymous)
The Houston Lambda Center hosts over 40 group meetings a week, offering
discussion and support concerning alcohol and drug problems. All people
are welcome without regard to race, creed, color, religion or sexual orientation.
The Lambda Center facilitates and encourages the 12-Step Program. There

Counseling Center
A non-profit, community-based organization providing culturally affirming,
quality, and affordable outpatient mental health, substance abuse treatment,
and case management services, education and research in Metropolitan Houston

Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender individuals and their significant others.
