About Us

Our Mission
GATHER is the GLBTQA (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning and ally) resource center on campus. We're here to provide support and promote education, awareness and advocacy of GLBTQA issues. We will support these individuals by providing a psychological and physical safe-space. Working in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Student Health Cluster and other departments and organizations that facilitate diversity and well-being, we will supply resources and create programming to further campus-wide understanding and harmony. In order to increase visibility and cohesiveness of the Rice GLBTQA community, we will reach out to and involve ourselves with local, national and international social and advocacy organizations.

Our Home
We'd love for you to drop by our space. It's brand new! Our office is located in the basement of the student center (RMC) near Willy's Pub. If you have trouble finding it, a nice young gal or guy at the info desk should be able to point you in the direction of the clubs offices. We are in the process of scheduling our office hours for the semester, so watch for more information soon!

Our Leadership
GATHER is run by a 9-person board, including 6 students and 3 staff members. With the new academic year, there are plans to re-evaluate the board structure. Watch for more information on officer positions in the near future!
