Membership Opportunities

For the first year, participation in the Corporate Affiliates Program and the Annual Affiliates meeting will be free of charge (financial contributions, however, will be accepted). In the future, there will be a nominal fee for membership.

Member contributions will fund activities within the depart-ment that are not covered by traditional university sources, such as purchasing supplementary equipment for research, funding graduate student travel to conferences, and aiding in the recruitment of high-caliber faculty and graduate students. These aspects of the Bioengineering program are vital to our success, and help us maintain our place among the top universities in the country.

Organizations are strongly encouraged to regard member-ship as a long-term commitment because the benefits of the program can be fully realized only through a relationship de-veloped over time. The membership contribution represents an investment in the future of Bioengineering at Rice and we hope affiliates will continue their memberships long enough to observe the growth their contributions have helped make possible.
