Annual Meeting
Affiliated companies are invited to send representatives to the Annual Affiliates meeting where presentations give members a broad view of current BIOE research. Over lunch, breaks, and breakout sessions, attendees can speak to individuals whose work is of particular interest to them.

Student Resumes
Affiliated companies receive resumes of students looking for summer jobs or permanent employment after graduation.

Member Visits to the Rice Campus

Affiliates are encouraged to visit the department during the year to discuss topics of mutual interest. During these visits, members can bring technical problems to the attention of faculty members and to outline what they believe to be key issues in advancing the state of the art in their fields.

Faculty Visit to Member Facility

A BIOE faculty member will make one visit annually to an affiliated company’s facility, as requested by the company. The visit can be used to discuss particular aspects of current research projects, or faculty members can conduct a seminar of interest to the affiliate. Member companies are responsible for the travel expenses of the faculty member.

Corporate-Faculty Liaison
A BIOE faculty member will serve as the main contact for the affiliated company to facilitate the exchange of ideas between the company and the department.
