Weather

Houston is plagued by poor weather much of the time. On the nights of the observatory open houses, check the open house page around sunset or later to make sure it will not be cancelled due to clouds. If it is raining, or has rained significantly during the afternoon, the observatory will be closed. The following links from George Mason University, Clear Sky Clock, and the National Weather Service can be helpful for observation planning and to predict when the atmosphere is likely to be clear with minimal turbulence.
