Gender & Energy for Sustainable Development:
"Fueling the Fight Against Poverty"
Susan McDade is the Manager of the Sustainable Energy Programme in UNDP, based in New York. Since 1996 she has worked on the definition of UNDP's overall programme approach and policy framework linking energy activities to sustainable development as reflected in corporate publications as well as country level programme activities. From 1990-1996 Ms. McDade worked in UNDP country offices in Guatemala and China managing capacity building activities in the social sectors, and in energy and environment. Ms. McDade is a development economist with a Masters of Development Studies in Economic Policy and Planning from the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands.
