IMC INTERNATIONAL PARTIO 2005

The International
Management Club held the first annual International Partio at the Jones
School. After much hype, the best student-run event exceeded
expectations drawing the entire student population to come and sample
international foods ranging from Ethiopian to Korean. The Partio
also included several entertainment performances from belly dancers from
the Sirrom Dance School of Dance to lion dancing from the Chinese
Community Culture Center in Houston.
The evening began
with a festival of culinary delights from across the globe with exotics
drinks from Peru to down-home Country Fried Chicken from Tennessee to
Taiwanese tapioca drinks from Teahouse. In our food judging
contest, our celebrity guest judges, Professor James Weston, Gale Wiley,
Paul Dholakia and Beth O'Sullivan had the difficult decision on voting
for the best represented region. After a long deliberation, they
awarded the prize to the Caribbean and African team!
Following the trophy
presentation, the judges also awarded prizes to the best dressed males
and best dressed females: winners, Jacob Varghese, Subhi Khudairi, Meera
Naehr, and Nkechi Ikenga showed Jones Schoolers how fashionable their
culture can be. The Indian region also impressed the student body with
their colorful and elaborate attire.
The International
Management Club would like to thank our generous sponsors
Sirrom School of Dance,
Teahouse, and
MetroBank, for making this wonderful event happen.
