The following events are planned for Monday, December 2, in
recognition of World AIDS Day (December 1):
Info Booth
Rice Memorial Center - All Day
Stop by the RMC lobby to pick up informational flyers about AIDS
covering topics such as the effects of AIDS both globally and locally, how to
protect yourself from the disease, where to go to get tested for HIV infection,
and ways you can make a difference in the fight against AIDS. Also view
educational posters and pick up a ribbon to wear, showing that you
care about AIDS. Safe sex packets containing condoms, lubricant, and
additional pamphlets will also be available. Take some time to educate yourself
about AIDS.
Info Tables
Selected Residential Colleges - Lunch
CAPP College Liaisons will staff tables in most of the residential colleges
during lunch. Many of the materials available at the RMC Info Booth will be
available here during lunch, include ribbons and safe sex packets.
Global and Local Perspectives on AIDS: A Panel Discussion
Kyle Morrow Room, Fondren Library - 7pm
This is the first installment in the HMO/RPMS International Medicine Lecture
Series. Participants in the discussion will include Dr. Heidi Schwarzwald (from
the Baylor Pediatric AIDS Initiative)
and Eric Roland (Director of Education,

on AIDS as a pandemic, a development issue, a health risk, and a personal
challenge. The discussion will be led mostly by questions from the audience.

Peer Program, the Office of Health Education, Rice Pre-Medical Society, Planned
