My current research involves 3 main projects:
1) Tropospheric Ozone
Pollution
2)
3) Research in Physics Education (RIPE)
The European scientific community has reported alarming high loss rates
for ozone in the Arctic stratosphere during the 1990's. Using data from
ozonesondes in combination with a model of atmospheric transport, we attempt
to reproduce the loss rates observed in their "MATCH" studies.
We have nearly completed our analysis for the winters of 1992 and 2000
and are embarking on a study of the winter of 2002. This project involves
a collaboration with scientists at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and
is funded through the Interdiscipinary Science Program at NASA.
