Parking Lot before Ride
This shot shows the parking lot as riders began to pack the parking lot
with their vehicles. |
The Gathering Bikers
The riders began to gather about 7:45 a.m. for the 8:00 a.m. start. |
Waiting to Start
Waiting for the start; the 65 mile riders to the right, the 52 milers in
the middle and us 29 milers to the left. |
First Rest Stop
The street in front on Manvel City Hall, where a police officer was directing
traffic for us. |
Carbing up!
At the first rest stop, the riders carb up and visit the rest room. I grabbed
a drink of water and left. |
Hwy 6 Leg
The crowd was spread out on Hwy 6 on the second stretch of the route. |
Self Portrait?
I tried to snap a self portrait while I was dogging it on Hwy 6. |
2nd Rest Stop
The 2nd rest stop, where I carbed up. Great volunteers! |
FM 521, Downtown in the Mist
North on FM 521; the Houston downtown skyline is in the distant mist but
you can't see it here. |
Lonely on the Home Stretch
As we got to Riley Road on the home stretch it was pretty lonely; you can
barely see one biker ahead of me. |
Finished!
One of the volunteers snapped this photo of me after the finish. No marching
bands but I felt great! |
