Comments on Scenario Criteria
West Eugene Wetland Special Area Study
Public Workshop #4, February 24, 1990
Please comment on the criteria used to develop scenarios A, B, and C as
shown below.
Scenario "A" Criteria:
The following criteria were used to evaluate sites for development:
*Site is within the urban growth boundary
*Wedand is under 10 acres in size
*Site is within 300 feet of existing water line, sanitary sewer line or
other infrastructure
*Site is a disturbed agricultural wetland
*Site has an average W.E.T. analysis rating below the mean for all WEWS
Sites
*Site abuts an existing improved street or road (area within 500 feet of
street)
*Wetland is human created

Scenario "B" Criteria:
The following criteria were used to evaluate sites for protection:
*Site contains rare plants
*Site has a W.E.T. rating above the mean
*Site has a wildlife habitat rating above the mean
*Site is ecologically unique (e.g., contains Deschampsia plant community)
*Site has an existing Natural Resource Designation in the Metro Plan
*Site is within 300 feet of a major waterway
*Wedand is larger than 10 acres
*Site is not close to existing public infrastructure
*Site doesn't have frontage on an existing improved road or street
*Site is not designated for industrial use in the Metro Plan

Scenario "C" Criteria:
The following criteria were used to evaluate sites for protection:
*Site contains rare plants
*Site has a W.E.T. rating above the mean
*Site has a wildlife habitat rating above the mean
*Site is ecologically unique (e.g., contains Deschampsia plant cornmunity)
*Site has an existing Natural Resource Designation in the Metro Plan
*Site is within 500 feet of a major waterway
*Wetland is larger than 10 acres
*Site is readily accessible
*Site is interconnected with other wetlands
*Site is ecologically diverse
