The riverside village of Xiangcheng in the rugged mountains of Western Sichuan is comprised of a small population of Tibetans, the majority of which survive on agrarian lifestyles. As Xiangcheng is located far off the beaten path and between large mountain ridges, few foreigners pass through this peaceful community. Walking around the town, my friends and I were greeted with a wealth of smiles that complimented the rosy cheeks characteristic of Tibetan faces. My friend Patrick went and sat down near these two young boys, and their immediate reaction of surprise and curiosity made for a great picture.
