Entries

- All entries must be submitted by Friday, March 1.
- Entry forms may be downloaded here.
- You may submit up to five entries, each of which should be submitted in a separate envelope marked with your name and a copy of the attached form (you may make additional copies).
- Entries should be submitted as a photographic print, 4x6 or larger.
- Photos must be clearly marked with your name.
- It is not necessary to submit a negative by the above deadline, but winners MUST be able to submit a negative within a week of the results being posted to have the photo enlarged for the exhibit.
- Because APS/Advantix can only be enlarged minimally without distortion, 35mm is preferred.

Participants

The contest is open to all currently enrolled Rice students who have
participated in any program sponsored or administered by
International Programs. This would include:
- Study Abroad
- International Internship Program
- SWAP
- BUNAC
- CIEE
- IAESTE
- AIESEC
- CDS International
- Brotzen, Whitley, or Goliard Scholarships
Photos submitted in previous years may not be resubmitted.

Subject
|
We will be looking for pictures which are representative of yoru study abroad experience: local people, Rice students in cross-cultural situations, landscapes. Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
- cross-cultural content
- artistic and technical quality
- reproducibility
We are not necessarily looking for the exotic.

Winners
|
One Best of Show will be awarded. The number of other winning places awarded will be left to the discretion of the judging panel. All other winning photos may be featured in the 2002 Campanile and future Rice Study Abroad publications.

Responsibility/Liability
|
International Programs will be responsible for producing enlargements from the winning negatives and displaying them. The finished enlargements will become the property of Rice International Programs. All prints and negatives that have been submitted will be returned. Every effort will be made to protect your photos/negatives, but in the event of loss or damage, our liability is limited to the cost of a replacement roll of film.
Each entrant gives Rice University the right to reproduce negatives or prints from his/her entry and to display and use reproductions in college publications, college slide shows or in any other non-commercial manner.
