The first step in coding a State Supreme Court case is establishing some basic information and coding it into the Access template.







Rather than manually typing the information from the Regional Reporter, coders make selections from drop down menus. An example can be seen below:

The coder then answers question about the case itself.

The coder then establishes the nature of the participants in the case.
The coder codes further information about the participants.
