The Robin told the frightened lark:

``give-in to your fear of the dark.

``It is the darkness of the night

that makes you see the dawning light,

``then - seeing it - you forge your song,

and singing is where you belong;

``but foolish birds who fear their fears

will miss the time that dawn appears,

``they'll find a safe and cozy cage,

and miss the fear, and miss the rage;

``sing not with them, sing on your own:

it's {\it your} song which creates the dawn.''
