Classical Electrodynamics: Assessment

Assessment: Homework will follow lecture topics. There will be approximately six or seven problem sheets issued every 1-2 weeks, cumulatively constituting 60% of the total grade. In terms of examinations, there will be a take-home open-book, open-notes exam for 15% of the total grade, and one take-home open-book, open-notes term paper at the end of the course, constituting the remaining 25% of the assessment.

Honor Code and Pledge: You are encouraged to discuss the course material with other students, the course teaching assistants (TAs) and/or instructors/faculty. You may also discuss approaches to solving homework problems with other students. However, your homework write-up is to be your own work, displaying your personal understanding. In contrast, exams are not to be discussed at all with other students or the TA, and are subject to the provisions of the Rice Honor Code. Please verify this by writing the word "pledge" and your signature on the mid-term exam and the end of term paper. Enquiries about the exams should be directed only to Dr. Baring.
