Research Summary

“I work on the Synthesis of Semiconductor Nanoparticles. The focus of the study is the control of size and shape of nanoparticles. The optical and electronic properties of the nanoparticles can be very easily tuned just by altering the size and shape hence the nanoparticles can be put to use in various applications. We have discovered new solvents and the ligands in our study for the same, which make our syntheses reproducible with high yield, economically viable and safe hence facilitating scaling up of the synthesis. Our semiconductor nanoparticles find a variety of applications in electronics and biomedical imaging. We collaborate with people from different fields on different levels and apply the nanoparticles synthesized in our laboratory.”
