Immunization Information

Immunizations that may be obtained through the Student Health Services (cash or check only, available on-site):


Off-site Immunizations

Vaccinations NOT available on-site. (Student is given a prescription, which is taken to a pharmacy. Student returns with medication and the injection is administered. Pharmacy cost varies.)

  • Chicken Pox - 2 part series, 4-8 weeks apart
  • Polio booster
  • MMR (mumps, measles and rubella)

Pharmacy

Travel Medicine Clinic (The Wandering Owl):

  • Oral Typhoid vaccine - capsule form (dosage every other day for 4 total doses) - provides protection after 2-4 weeks - duration is 5 years
  • Hepatitis A - (see above) - protection provided 2-4 weeks after 1st injection - if booster obtained, potential lifetime immunity
  • Anti-Malarial chemopropylaxis (tablets) - not a vaccine, provides protection only while taking - exact medication used depends on region traveled to
  • Yellow Fever - only available at select off-campus sites, which students will be referred to - duration of protection is 10 years
