• Who can attend the College Leadership Workshop (CLW)?
All high school students are welcome!

  • How do I register for CLW?
You can register by filling out the registration form found on the CLW Registration page.

  • When is the deadline to register?
The last day you can register is Thursday, October 20, 2011.

  • What is the fee for attending CLW?
The fee is $5 for each high school student who attends. Please notice that this year there is a late fee of $7 for those who register at the door. Cash or checks are accepted.
NOTE: This fee is nonrefundable and will only be refunded if no space is available for student.

  • When do I pay the fee?
You pay the fee when you check in on the morning of CLW, Saturday, October 22, 2011.

  • Should I bring anything to CLW?
Just bring $5 ($7 late)---either cash or check. When you check in, you will be given a folder containing the CLW schedule, the list of workshops and descriptions, contact information of workshop leaders, and scratch paper along with writing utensils.

  • How do I get to Rice University?
For more information, click here. Since parts of the Rice campus are undergoing construction, check back to our website at least the day before CLW for updates in case there are any changes.

  • Can I park at a Rice parking lot?
Yes, the nearest parking lot is the underground Central Campus Garage (see map). If you do decide to park at the lot, we will be able to supply you with a parking voucher to waive the parking fee when you exit the event.

  • I've heard that I can bring a copy of my college application essay for a workshop leader to proofread. Is this true?
If you have already written your college essay, by all means bring a copy of it with you to CLW. However, due to the busy schedule, the workshop leaders may or may not have time to proofread your entire essay and give constructive comments. Instead of requesting an entire proofread, we recommend that you ask specific questions pertaining to certain problem areas in your essay. That way, the workshop leader(s) can focus on these problems in the limited time they have.
