One of the unique aspects of Rice University is its wealth of extracurricular activities open to the student body. Rice always welcomes new opportunities to explore the world outside of the classroom. From club sports and cultural groups to pre-professional organizations, there are over 200 student organizations to choose from. These varied opportunities continue to flourish each year because of the enthusiastic involvement of Rice students. This Clubs Manual has been created to help foster such student efforts. In it you will find valuable information for all clubs. The manual guides you through the club registration process, financial management of your organization and event planning. The manual is also an important tool for the residential colleges. Event planning and alcohol policy procedures are an important part of college life, and this manual will make registering events with alcohol and conforming to Texas state laws a less complicated task. The Office of Student Activities encourages a diversity of programs and student participation in all aspects of involvement at Rice University. We hope you find the Clubs Manual to be a useful tool in your extracurricular endeavors. |
