The mission of the Office of Student Activities at Rice University is to provide students, both undergraduate and graduate, with practical educational experiences that complement the traditional classroom education. We begin this endeavor through orientation that aims to support new students and their transition to Rice and to support them in navigating their academic experience. The Office of Student Activities' fundamental focus is to foster the leadership development of students through academic, cultural, literary, social, sportsmanship, and student government.
Through organizational advisement, consultation, program coordination and registration, Student Activities sponsors many services. The Office offers many connections for individual students, clubs, and student-initiated programs, including event management, alcohol policy implementation, Legal Aid Advisors and Joint Campus Ministries.
The Office of Student Activities values the contributions of student initiatives and its impact on the educational experience. With the cultivation of responsible leadership, social initiative, the appreciation of cultural diversity and integrity, the Office of Student Activities serves as the liaison between students, residential colleges, student clubs and administration for the enrichment of the Rice University community. |
