Members are automatically upgraded to corporate
member status the year of graduation, while still
paying student membership dues for one additional
year if desired. |
To apply for membership, you must:
| Be
enrolled in a course of study leading to an
undergraduate or graduate degree, in petroleum
engineering, chemical engineering, geological
engineering, petroleum technology, geophysics or
other related fields. | |
| Carry at least 30% of a normal full-time academic
load. |
New student members must complete the Student Membership Application Form, which can be obtained as a Word (.doc) or Adobe Acrobat document (.pdf) by clicking below in the corresponding link:

The application must be endorsed by an SPE member in good standing (usually our Faculty Advisor) and submitted to SPE along with your Student Member Annual dues, which are U.S. $12 for students in the United States of America.
If you study at Rice University or at the University of Houston, please send the Application Form with your information and your Annual dues to us, at the address given above. For other institutions in the Houston area, please include proof of compliance with the Student Membership Requirements. We will ask our Faculty sponsor to endorse your application, and then submit it to SPE for processing. Once your application is processed you will be assigned automatically to our Student Chapter, and entitled to the benefits and rights of our Student Members.
