Solar research at Rice employs multiwavelength observations from a wide array of space- and ground-based instrumentation to better understand the physics of the solar atmosphere and solar transient phenomena such as flares, filament eruptions, and coronal mass ejections (CMEs).  Our main goal is to explore the physical driving mechanisms governing the various manifestations of solar activity.
