Database of Local Volunteer Opportunities

Although there are several campus affiliated programs to volunteer with, many students choose to volunteer independently or to meet a class requirement. To serve these students, the CIC maintains the Database of Local Volunteer Opportunities. The database is easily searchable and contains over 320 local service agencies. With the assistance of a CIC staff member, students can search the database according to their interests, time availability, or distance from Rice. Printed search results provide users with the name and mission of the agency, the volunteer positions available, who to contact for more information, how far the site is from Rice, the minimum time commitment, and the responsibilities, expectations, and training required. A hard file is available to review and often materials such as a volunteer application are available. Appointments are recommended, but drop-ins during regular weekday hours are welcomed.

I'd like to make an appointment to search the database.
