Cross-Cultural Solutions  
Frontiers Foundation Inc Service, experiential education, research. The purpose of the society is to promote and advance field research and implement practical projects contributing to the conservation of natural resources. Ten-week conservation research expeditions in Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, and Vietnam.
Global Citizens Network Sends small teams of cross-cultural volunteers on expeditions to rural communities around the world to immerse themselves in the daily life of the local culture and work on community projects for several weeks.

Mar de Jade

Volunteering is a key part of life at Mar de Jade. Our two primary projects are the Chacala Library, located on the elementary school grounds in the village, and Techos de Mexico which holds work-camps once or twice a year.

Nicaragua Center for Community Action

Volunteer work brigade in Nicaragua. Live and work on a sustainable agricultural program with Nicaraguan Campesinos.
Operation Crossroads Africa Volunteer workcamps. Operation Crossroads promotes cross-cultural sharing and understanding through six-week volunteer workcamp programs in Africa and Brazil. All projects include a component of physical work and most are located in rural areas.
Outreach International Volunteer service trips primarily in Alabama and Chili. Volunteers work with OI's Adobe Block Construction program.

School for International Training  
Service Station Creates, promotes, and manages short-term (1 day to 2 weeks) volunteers service opportunities that are fairly inexpensive. Most sites open all year.
Volunteers for Peace Aims to promote citizen diplomacy by maximizing personal contact with local people through international volunteer workcamps and short-term adventures. Work available in over 70 countries (95% of all opportunities take place June - September).

Africare Africare helps Africa. Over the course of its 28 years, Africare has become a leader among private, charitable U.S. organizations assisting Africa and is the oldest and largest African-American organization in that field.
American Friends Service Committee Long and short-term service. Quaker service, training, witness and internships . Includes people of various faiths who are committed to social justice, peace, and humanitarian service.
American Red Cross International Services Department - ARC works to improve the quality of human life and enhance its sister nations in disaster preparedness and response, primary health care education, AIDS/HIV education, blood collection and processing, capacity building and other programmatic areas.
Cross Cultural Solutions Cross-Cultural Solutions is a non-profit organization that sends volunteers abroad to provide humanitarian assistance with our Volunteer Programs in Asia, Africa and Latin America and China.
Explorations in Travel Long-term service. Provides volunteer work placements for people looking to spend and extended amount of time in an area. College credit may be available.
Foundation for Sustainable Development Summer internship program, long and short-term service, experiential learning. Dedicated to the support of sustainable development initiatives in the developing world with primary focus on Latin America. Internships with local grassroots organizations in Nicaragua, Venezuela, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Glen Falls Medical Mission Project - Guatemala The mission of the Glens Falls Medical Missionary Foundation is to develop a sustained effort to work with the people of one area in the developing world. We provide the local residents with needed health benefits, including both the medical care itself and the tools to empower them to evolve their own health care.
Global Service Corps Long-term (2 months +) and short-term (2-3 weeks) service. Global Service Corps works to match your interests with international organizations' needs. They deal with issues ranging from education to women's issues to agriculture in countries like Costa Rica, Thailand, and Kenya.

Institute for International Cooperation and Development

A non-profit organization dedicated to promoting global understanding and international solidarity. IICD sends volunteers to Africa and Latin America to teach children, plant trees, educate people in rural communities, and help construct schools and clinics.

International Volunteer Expeditions

International Volunteer Expeditions ("IVEX") is a non-profit California corporation, an associate member of CCIVS (Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service) at UNESCO. IVEX exists solely to facilitate international voluntary service.
Just Act National non-profit that enables students to work together for grassroots development throughout the world.Their Opportunities Program has a Clearinghouse service that helps students arrange internships and volunteer placements with grassroots community organizations in the United States and abroad.
Knights Bridge International

Peace Brigades International Unique grassroots organization implementing nonviolent approach to peacekeeping and support for human rights. PBI sends teams of volunteers to provide protective accompaniment for individuals and groups threatened by political repression.
Peacecorps Long-term service. Formed by the U.S. government to promote world peace, mutual understanding and offer trained men and women to countries in need. Every year 6500 volunteers address issues including agriculture, education, health, engineering, business, urban planning, and environment in over 90 countries world wide. Must have a degree to participate.
Peacework Short and long-term service. Volunteer organization managing humanitarian service and development projects throughout the world.
Project India Cross-Cultural Solutions: Short and long-term placements, cultural and service immersions. "Project India means coming face to face with global issues and then becoming part of the solution. Volunteers work at local social service organizations and experiencing life in a developing country. Project works on sustainable community development, empowerment, and education.
Service Civil International Short-term international workcamps, medium and long-term voluntary service. Volunteer service organization with 33 branches worldwide. Aims to promote peace, international understanding and solidarity, social justice, sustainable development, and respect for the environment.
SIPAZ (International Service for Peace) Long-term volunteer placements in Chiapas, Mexico Created as a response from the international community to the sense among many sectors in Mexico that international opinion could contribute to the search for a peaceful solution to the conflict in Chiapas. Requires Spanish fluency and prior international work.
Visions in Action Long-term service, internships in D.C.. An international, progressive non-profit organization founded on the conviction that there is much we can learn from and contribute to the developing world as part of a community of volunteers committed to social justice. Opportunities in the urban settings of Africa and Mexico.
Voluntarios Solidarios - Task Force on Latin America and the Caribbean Voluntarios Solidarios seeks to replace violence, war, racism, and economic injustice with nonviolence, peace, and justice.
Voluntary Service Overseas Long-term service. VSO places volunteers in one of many two-year projects in a developing nation. Women and men work alongside people in poorer countries in order to promote international understanding and action in pursuit of a more equitable world.
Volunteers in Asia Long-term service teaching English and study tours of Asia with a public service component VIA annually sends between 30-40 English teachers to Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, and China. Also offer 2-5 week study/service programs in Asia.
World Teach Placements of 8 weeks to 1 year Organization based at Harvard University sends volunteers overseas to teach a variety of subjects in developing countries. Housing and a small stipend are provided.

Erie Diocesan Mission Office Provides lay and religious volunteers to work in a Christian community in the Yucatan.
Jesuit Volunteer Corps The Jesuit Volunteer Corps offers women and men an opportunity to work full-time for justice and peace. Jesuit Volunteers are called to the mission of serving the poor directly, working for structural change in the United States, and accompanying people in developing countries.
Pastors for Peace An ecumenical agency whose mission is to help forward the struggles of oppressed people for justice and self-determination.
