____ 1. The largest organelle in
the cell. It directs all activities and works as the “brains” of the cell.
a.) cytoplasm
b.)
chromatin
c.) nucleus
____ 2. This organelle
acts as a cleanup crew. It gets rid of waste products from within the cell.
a.) ribosomes
b.)
lysosomes
c.) nucleolus
____ 3. The organelle that is responsible for providing energy to the cell so that it can continue to live. Also referred to as the "power plant" of the cell.
a.)
mitochondria
b.) chromatin
c.)
cytoplasm
_____ 4. Strands
of protein and DNA (which carries genetic information) that are found within the
nucleus are called:
a.)
nuclear envelope b.)
endoplasmic reticulum c.)
chromatin.
____ 5. A
small spherical body that is found within the nucleus that is responsible for
making ribosome parts is called:
a.)
vacuoles
b.) nucleolus
c.) ribosomes.
_____ 6. With
the help of the endoplasmic reticulum, it packages and moves proteins to the
outside of the cell.
a.)
cytoplasm
b.) golgi (apparatus) bodies
c.) lysosomes
____ 7. The
part of the cell that forms the outer boundary and allows certain materials to
move in and out of the cell.
a.)
nuclear envelope b.)
chromatin
c.) cell membrane
_____ 8. This
organelle moves proteins and other materials from place to place within the
cell. It acts as a cellular highway.
a.)
ribosomes
b.) endoplasmic reticulum
c.) vacuoles
_____ 9. A
gel-like material inside the cell membrane that contains the organelles; it
contains water and nutrients for the cell.
a.) cytoplasm
b.) nucleus
c.) nucleolus
_____
10. Part
of the cell that separates the nucleus from the cytoplasm;
it allows materials to enter and leave the nucleus.
a.) cell membrane
b.) nuclear envelope
c.) ribosomes
_____
11.
The cell part that stores materials such as food (proteins, fats, and
carbohydrates), water and waste materials.
a.) mitochondria
b.) endoplasmic reticulum
c.) vacuoles
_____ 12. Small
structures within a cell whose main job is to assemble and make proteins.
a.) ribosomes
b.) lysosomes
c.) chromatin
