When we discuss modern topics in psychology, we will have more emphasis on class discussion. Students have been assigned individual topic areas, and they will be responsible for stimulating discussion.

You may organize this in any way that seems relevant, but you should raise, or at least consider, three basic questions about each of the topic areas.

Why has this topic been important in the recent history of psychology? What has it contributed to our understanding of human thought and behavior?
What are the current issues of lasting importance in this area? What issues or questions have been not given sufficient attention?
To the extent you can project say 25 years into the future, will this field continue to be viable? What changes might you anticipate?

It is not necessary that you explicitly cover each of these points, but considering each will, I trust, help you think about the field in its historical perspective.
