Józef Piłsudski arrives at Warsaw’s Central Railway Station on 11 November 1918. Piłsudski had just been freed from German captivity, and his arrival in Warsaw marked the founding of the Second Polish Republic. On 16 November a provisional government was formed in Polish lands, and the first parliamentary election was set up for 26 January 1919.
