Go out and dance!

The best way to improve your dancing is to social dance. It's a lot of fun and you'll be addicted in no time. Houston is a great city for salsa. Check out the clubs in Houston.

Making Our Mark In only one semester, Rice Salseros has exploded onto the Houston salsa scene. We have become affiliated with Houston Salsa Dancers, held 3 successful social events, provided over 60 hours of salsa instruction, formed relationships with other universities and dance companies in Houston, and participated in meaningful community service. We're just getting started. See Rice Salseros in action.

Saaaaalsa There's nothing that makes your body move like salsa. There music captures the imagination through exciting, heart-pounding highs and sensual, sexy lows. Flashy footwork and intricate turn patterns make salsa a mesmorizing dance to watch and very rewarding to dance. Salsa is not just a dance... it's a way of life.

Salseros ID The Rice Salseros ID is your key to the perks that come from being part of a group such as ours. The ID is free to all members after paying dues. The ID provides free or reduced cover charges to select Houston dance clubs, free or reduced entry fees to certain events, discounts on dancewear, and a warm-fuzzy feeling inside. The ID will have your name and is good for an entire school year. For more information, email salseros@rice.edu.

Other Dances Salsa is the center of our organization. We dance a lot of mambo too. As a matter of fact, we embrace all of the "latin" dances. We also dance merengue, bachata, and cha-cha. These wonderful dances are usually the "other songs" that you hear at our socials.
