"I come from a small town
from central China. Both of my parents are mechanical
engineers while eventually I choose chemical engineering as
my career. I am the only child in my family which is very
common in China due to this everybody-knows problem.I think
I am a realist. I think I did pretty well in the first
quarter of my life by realizing my dream of getting to know
the bigger world step by step. I still remember the day I
received the offer from Rice. I knew I was granted an
extremely precious opportunity to study in the best
university, work under the best professor and collaborate
with the best colleagues. I was even happier when I knew
that I could enter Professor Chapman's group to do my
favorite research here. I'll do my best to value this once
in a life time chance. I am a huge fan of Basketball. I play
once in a while. And I am crazy about NBA and NCAA
basketball. I like science fiction a lot. Because some of
their ideas are so interesting and novel. Maybe they will
come true one day, who knows."
