Rice Course Evaluations
and Grade Distributions
Official
Course Evaluations Rice University official
course evaluations from the past few semesters. Found on the Registrar's
page.
-
Pros:
These pages provide survey data from end-of-semester evaluations given
to students in all classes. Provides data from a large number of students.
It is useful to find out, in general, whether a professor or course is
popular or not.
-
Cons: All information
is quantitative. It is hard to put your finger on what students really
liked or disliked about the course or professor.
Unofficial
Course Evaluations This is a link to
the Underground Course Evaluations.
-
Pros: It allows
students to speak their minds about a particular course or professor (sometimes
in colorful ways).
-
Cons: Few students
actually complete these evaluations. Students that filled out these evaluations
usually have strong feelings, in one way or the other, about the professor
or course.
Grade
Distributions See the grades given
in all classes at Rice University in
the past few years. Found on the Registrar's
page.
-
Pros: Find
out how, in the past, students did in the classes you are about to take.
-
Cons: You don't know
how students will do in the class this year.
