Assignment 12

The reading can be found below. I am only going to have you read and discuss a single article for next week. This might be a very light week, but be prepared in class to discuss all of the details of this article.

Your 12th assignment is due Monday, November 25th.

Please do the following:

I have put a copy of a manuscript in my class box. I have no idea who the author might be. The manuscript was submitted to the Legislative Studies Quarterly. I would like you to review that mansucript (entitled "Do Procedural Rules Really Matter." I want you to:

(A). Determine whether the manuscript makes a contribution to the literature. You should not have to rely on anything more than what you have currently read for class.

(B). Determine whether the manuscript makes "true" claims. This should be based on your understanding of social choice theory.

(C). Determine whether the manuscript warrants publication.

You should write no more than 3 single-spaced pages. If it takes you less, fine. Your review should provide clear guidance to the "editor" (me in this case) and should provide clear guidance to the author.
