Biggest Loser Challenge Rules
Registration
- Registration will be from September 28 - October 9, 2009.
- Individuals may not enter the challenge after October 9, 2009.
- The challenge will run from October 5 - December 11, 2009 (10 weeks).
- Individuals will be emailed an identification number.
- Participants' information will be kept confidential throughout the entire competition.
Testing
- Testing will be completed in the first 2 days of the challenge.
- Individuals' weigh-in/height will be recorded.
- Individuals' Body Mass Index will be calculated the first week of the challenge to compare to at the end of the challenge.
Competition
- Participants will compete individually.
- The winners will be the male and female who has the largest percent weight loss.
- There will be 2 mid-way winners (Male and Female) (Winners announced Nov 9th).
- The final winners will be the week of December 11, 2009.
- At the end of the challenge, the winners will be the only ones listed with their starting and ending percent weight lost. All other information will be kept confidential.
Weigh-in information
- All participants must weigh in each Monday or Tuesday of each week in the Rice Recreation Center weight room with a weight room attendant.
- The attendant will record each individual’s weight by their Identification number.
- The time of day that the individual weighs in must be consistent each week.
- Amount of food/meals eaten must be the same prior to weighing.
- Weighing in with shoes/no shoes must remain consistent.
- The scale used must remain consistent.
- If participants are not weighed by a weight room attendant, they are responsible for weighing themselves and emailing their weight with identification number to incentiveprogram@rice.edu by Tuesday night of that week.
