youth Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills

Buoyancy on Front

Prerequisite: Float unassisted on front and back & swim 5 feet unassisted.

Exit water safely using ladder or side

Submerge entire head
Bobs
Open eyes underwater, pick up a submerged object
Buoyancy on Front
Maintain front float position (face in water)
Recover from front float to standing position

Float in face-down position (jellyfish float)

Tread water using scissors, breaststroke or rotary kick and
sculling arm motions

Adult Beginners

The class description is similar to the Youth Levels 1-2 descriptions, above.
* Adult beginner class helps to build comfort in the water, going under water, floating & swimming short distances. This class is meant for new swimmers.
* All lessons will be tailored to fit the specific needs of the students.

Adult Intermediate

Prerequisite: Swim 10-15 feet continuously, unassisted. Able to swim with your face underwater.
* Adult intermediate class is meant for swimmers inbetween the beginner class and the stroke mechanics class.
* Adult intermediate class is similiar to the Youth level 3 class description, above.

Adult Stroke Mechanics

Prerequisite: Swim 25 yards continuously using freestyle, backstroke and breastroke. Comfort in deep water.
* Adult stroke mechanics class is meant for lap swimmers who would like to improve their technique.
