Welcome to the official Rice For Peace Website!

Mission Statement:

We, Rice for Peace, advocate nonviolent means of conflict resolution both domestically and abroad.  We work to encourage our government to practice peaceful diplomacy; we use our educational resources to provide information about the historical, economic, social, and political underpinnings of war; we promote awareness of the consequences of military aggression; and we offer support for peace in coalition with local, national, and international groups with whom we find common cause. The organization comprises members who are committed to education, debate, and active protest in the face of U.S. military action it considers to be unnecessary, unwarranted, and unjust.

We are comprised of students, staff, and faculty at Rice University in Houston, Texas, USA. We are involved in organizing teach-ins, debates, fund-raising, rallies, documentary screenings, and facilitating discussion of US foreign and domestic policies as they pertain to military aggression. In addition, our members also actively participate in the events sponsored by like-minded organizations.
