White-Breasted Nuthatch

Sitta carolinensis

"The white-breasted nuthatch is blue-gray above and white below with chestnut shading beneath the short, stubby tail. A black cap and nape frame an all-white face ... the white-breasted nuthatch is a year-round resident in the eastern third of Texas, ranging westward to Fort Worth and Bryan."
