Red-Shouldered Hawk
Buteo lineatus
"It is a year-round resident in the eastern half
of Texas ... Adults are brown above with reddish barring across
the light breast ... In flight, the red-shouldered hawk displays
rufous wing-linings
and pale crescent-shaped patches at the base of the primaries.
The dark tail crossed by narrow white bands is also diagnostic."

listed to the left.
