Inca Dove

Columbina inca

"The gray body feathers have dark edges and impart a conspicuous scaly appearance that readily distinguishes the Inca from the larger mourning dove. Chestnut wing patches show in flight, while the comparatively long, squat tail has white edges when spread."

Though the perimeter is lighter in color than the remainder of the feather, and not darker, this is still an Inca Dove.

Picture taken with a Nikon D80 using a Nikon 300mm, f/2.8 manual focus lens.
