Forty-nine tenured faculty (approximately 1% annually) have retired between 1989-1998, about half of whom negotiated a retirement incentive package.
Over the last 10-year period from 1989-98, the age of tenured faculty at retirement varies only slightly and has not shown an increase with the elimination of mandatory age 70 retirement on January 1, 1994.
