Research Opportunities for Rice Undergraduates

Opportunities abound for Rice undergraduates to get involved in doing research under faculty supervision.  In particular, there are immediate opportunities in the Department of Psychology in the areas of visual perception and cognitive neuroscience.  Some of these involve working with me in building a new laboratory for the study of visual organization and attention.  Others involve additional faculty in Psychology's Cognitive Area (those faculty include Randi Martin, Dan Osherson, Geoff Potts, and Tony Ro) and faculty associated with Baylor College of Medicine, the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, and other institutions in the Texas Medical Center.

If you are interested in doing research during the academic year, as a part of Psychology's Independent Study program (PSYC 485), please contact me either in person (Sewall Hall 492A), by telephone (Rice extension 3419), or by email at pomeran@rice.edu .  It is possible there will also be opportunities to serve as a research assistant (sometimes for pay) during the summer months.
