Match of the Season
August 23, 2003 The graduate students awoke full of anticipation. The weather conditions were excellent; team captain Gavin Dillingham had organized the team masterfully; and Friday night's practice had resulted in only three injuries, none of which required emergency medical services. The students knew the faculty were aging and were sure that this was their year. Navin Bapat gave a passionate pre-game speech worthy of a television movie. Unfortunately, however, the outcome was familiar. The faculty team had recruited well in the off-season and posted one of its more impressive wins. The final score: Faculty 14, Graduate Students 2. New team member Melissa Marschall was named MVP for her strong infield play and excellent hitting. Below are pictures from the game.
