Aging Faculty Prove They Aren't Done Yet!

August 26, 2006

In a surprise, come from behind victory, the faculty defeated the graduate students 3-2 in six innings, ending a two year graduate student win streak. Both sides demonstrated impressive fielding skills, resulting in a low scoring game. Mark Jones of the the faculty team was named MVP for his play in left field, which featured multiple acrobatic catches. The graduate students led 2-1 going into the sixth inning, but were unable to hold their lead as the faculty brought two runners home in the sixth.

The graduate students took the loss well. As co-captain Raul Gonzalez told his team, "We're just here to have fun. There's no pride in beating these people anyway."

Most importantly, nobody got hurt!
