 If you witness suspicious activity, a crime in progress, or if an incident is reported to you, call the Campus Police at 713 348-6000 or 9-1-1 immediately. You may all so use the on-line Owl Witness form at http://rupd.rice.edu/witness. (When you are off campus dial 9-1-1.)

If needed, the Campus Police will start a Campus Watch Alert by calling the first Captain on the list. The notified Captain will then call the next Captain on the list.

  Each Captain upon notifying the next Captain will then alert the members in her or his assigned watch area.

If a Captain is unavailable notify the Co-Captain.  If both Captains are unavailable, notify the next area Captain on your list and the absent Captain's area.

 When the last Captain on the list is notified, he or she should call the Campus Police to report that the alert has been completed.

The telephone emergency procedures described above may also be activated by College Masters, Department Directors and the Rice University Police Department for other emergencies not necessarily crime or prevention related.
