Seminar Speakers –

• Forward names of potential speakers with broad appeal to Jan Odegard for inclusion in CITI lecture series
• Advertise departmental speakers with cross-department appeal
• e.g., MEMS will host Vincent Hayward 11/17/06 and Michael Goldfarb 1/07
• Advertise talks in the colleges and with undergraduates
• Aim for scheduling after 4 PM or over lunch, with food provided
• Other potential speakers
• Maja Mataric
• Sebastian Thrun
• Charles Pell

Funding

• There was some discussion about moving forward with a medium proposal for the NSF Robust Intelligence call
• Subsequent follow-ups with faculty generated minimal interest
• Not pursuing at this time

Upcoming issues to be discussed

• Hand-off of “chair” of Robotics@Rice (O’Malley out ½ of Spring 07 and all of Summer/Fall 07)
