Undergraduate i-PREP (international - Preparation and Regulatory Education Program)
i-PREP is a program designed for incoming international undergraduate students that prepares them for their studies and teaches them about the immigration regulations they must adhere to. This orientation is mandatory for all new Rice international undergraduate students. Other orientation activities for all incoming Rice undergraduates are held in the week following i-PREP.

 

Short-Term International Visiting Research Students
The link above is intended for visiting international undergraduate students who are not pursuing a degree at Rice University, but are instead coming for a short visit to conduct research.

 

Undergraduate Admissions

The following requirements must be met for the freshman admission application:

  • Part I and II of the Rice Application
  • a $50 nonrefundable application fee
  • your official high school transcript
  • SAT, or ACT with the writing test
  • two SAT Subject tests (in subjects related to proposed area of study)
  • recommendations from your high school counselor and at least one academic teacher
  • a portfolio for applicants to the School of Architecture
  • an audition for applicants to the Shepherd School of Music
  • a personal interview is OPTIONAL, but recommended
